Auto Insurance Claims, Handled by
Your Body Shop
An insurance claim shouldn't feel like a second job. At Anthony's Autobody, you make one call and we take the claim from there — the estimate, the adjuster back-and-forth, the supplements, the direct billing. You drop off a damaged vehicle and pick up a repaired one. That's the entire job description on your side.
Starting a claim? Call 780-469-6032 or send photos through our online estimate and we'll guide you from step one.
Your Right to Choose Your Repair Shop
In Alberta, the choice of repair shop is yours — not your insurance company's. An insurer may recommend a 'preferred' facility, and those recommendations are fine, but they are recommendations. You can have your vehicle repaired at any shop you trust, and your claim is processed exactly the same way. Choose the shop, then tell your adjuster where the vehicle is going.
How Claims Work With Us
Open your claim — call your insurer or broker with the basics of what happened. Not sure what to say? Call us first and we'll walk you through it.
Get your estimate — bring the vehicle in or start with photos online. We document the damage the way adjusters need to see it.
We work the claim — we submit the estimate, answer the adjuster's questions, and handle supplements if hidden damage turns up once panels come off.
Repair and refinish — structural, body, and paint, all in our shop, backed by our lifetime warranty.
Pick-up — you pay your deductible to us; we bill your insurer directly for the balance.
What to Do After an Accident
Get to safety, call 911 if anyone is injured, exchange names, licence plates, and insurance details, and photograph everything — vehicles, positions, licence plates, the scene. In Alberta, collisions with damage over $5,000, or involving injury, must be reported to police. Then call us; we can arrange towing if the vehicle isn't drivable. Our full step-by-step guide covers the details, including what not to say at the scene.
Hit & Run and Vandalism Repair
If your vehicle was hit while parked or vandalized, report it to the Edmonton Police Service first — your insurer will require a police file number for the claim. Hit-and-run and vandalism damage is typically covered under the comprehensive portion of your policy. We'll document the damage for both the police file and the insurance claim.
Wildlife Collision Repair
Deer strikes are a fact of life on Alberta highways, and they're covered under comprehensive coverage — not collision — which matters because comprehensive claims are treated differently on your record. Animal impacts often cause hidden damage behind the bumper and under the hood: radiators, condensers, sensors. We check all of it, not just the panels you can see.
Towing & Courtesy Cars
Vehicle not drivable? We'll arrange towing straight to our shop — one call, done. While your vehicle is with us, courtesy cars are available, and if your policy includes rental coverage we'll coordinate the rental so the claim pays for it.
Insurance Claim FAQs
-
Generally no. Most insurers require a single estimate from the shop performing the repair. Pick your shop, get one estimate, and the adjuster works from that — we'll confirm your insurer's process when you call.
-
You pay only your deductible. We bill the insurer directly for the rest of the approved repair, so you're never out of pocket for the full amount.
-
That's called a supplement, and it's routine — hidden damage shows up once panels come off. We document it, submit it to your adjuster for approval, and keep you informed. It doesn't restart your claim.
-
It depends on fault, your coverage, and your insurer's rules — comprehensive claims (hail, wildlife, vandalism) are generally treated differently from at-fault collisions. Your broker can tell you exactly how a claim affects your policy; we'd rather point you there than guess.
